Much like the main character from Monsters in Manhattan, I started out as just a regular kid from Queens, NY. An unspectacular kid who filled countless notebooks with ideas and creations, and then always seemed to get a box of fresh drawing pads or paper from Santa every Christmas.
After graduating from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, I embarked upon a career in editorial illustration, only to find it less fulfilling
than I had anticipated. Something huge was missing. Sure, I loved doing the drawings, but I needed more.
That's when I discovered writing.
Creating odd and interesting characters has always been my passion and
as an author I have the opportunity to bring them to life and then tell their incredible stories.
Eventually, I had created an amazing array of books that I was very proud of, but, again, there was something missing. That's when I discovered speaking opportunities.
It turns out, the best part of my week is when I have the honor to be invited to a school, library or conference and tell the above story. By far the greatest event an artist can participate in is when they
share the journey and hopefully inspire someone else's
incredible quest!
Thanks for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy my books.
